For whom?
The game is designed for adults, seniors, and young people. It can be played in intergenerational and intercultural groups—in a workshop room, theater, community center, gallery, café, or even on a park bench.
Why?
The aim of the game is to stimulate imagination, foster unconventional thinking, and awaken creativity, while also encouraging integration among participants and reflection on migration in the face of the ongoing climate crisis. The proposed activities facilitate mutual learning through artistic methods of expression in groups that bring together different generations and perspectives. Tasks are based on tools and methods rooted in sharing experiences, improvisation, imagination, cooperation, and mindfulness. They engage people of diverse life stories, ages, and languages in collective action. At the same time, they provide opportunities for talent development, the discovery of new forms of expression, and sharing one’s worldview. A central focus of our work is the development of imagination as a resource that can support people in addressing socially important issues such as migration and climate change in their everyday lives.
About what?
The Crossworld Game – workshops of imagination focus on understanding migration today in all its complexity, taking into account the climate crisis, challenges of everyday life in a new country, legal issues, building new relationships and homes, and bringing memories and traditions into a new society. During the workshops, we deconstruct our habitual ways of thinking about migration and mobility, reflecting together on the origins of concepts such as nation, borders, and documents proving one’s right to move and stay in a particular place. We draw on both personal experiences and texts about the migration of people, animals, and plants, as well as philosophy and issues of climate justice and mobility justice.
