Description

A person lives in an imagined order. Most aspects of social life are based on the fact that we believe in something that does not actually exist; we make decisions believing that there will be a future, often dependent on non-existent factors in the real world (for example, we take out loans believing that in 20 years we will still be able to repay them). It is this belief in the imagined that most distinguishes humans from other animals, helping to create narratives that, among other things, led humans to declare themselves gods in relation to other beings or people.

In a multicultural group of performers – amateurs and individuals involved in art, we confront the topic of faith as a factor that organizes our lives. We reflect on how the fact that we believe in a free market, universal justice, a world without borders, sustainable development, or that Poland is the Christ of Nations, influences our daily choices and functioning in the world. We refer to the direct experiences of the group members – their perceptions of postcolonial relations or the religions they practice. We juxtapose our beliefs with superstitions, stereotypes, and the weak points of those beliefs. In other words, we try to probe what most distinguishes the human species from other animals.
