Description

In our performance "On our knees" we explore the symbolism of the knees as an expression of both vulnerability and brutality, reflecting the physical and emotional weight they can carry. Through the body we seek to express these ideas, exploring how acts of suppression and control manifest in the body. At the same time, we address the harsh reality of discrimination faced by Afghans in Iran, creating a parallel between the personal and the political, between the individual body and social oppression.

Through the body, we aim to express these ideas, investigating how acts of suppression and control manifest in the body.

In 2021, she was awarded an "in the field" grant at the Wiener Festwochen. Winning the "Try Out" competition in 2021 allowed her to present her solo show "Hijab offline" in collaboration with Dschungel Theater. In 2022, she participated as a performer in the ‘Parasol’ project at TQW, collaborating with Ian Kaler and Alix Eynaudi. In her artistic practice, she combines her passion for feminism and inclusivity with her knowledge of performance art.
