Courage, freedom, imagination is the Strefa WolnoSłowa’s project, through which we aim to expand the circle of migrant artists collaborating with our organization. For years, the primary focus of the Strefa’s activities has been creative work with intergenerational groups of people from diverse cultural backgrounds, varying degrees of prior engagement in artistic initiatives. We are inspired by the exchange of stories, work with biographies, joint exploration of forms for narratives and experiences, initiating participatory processes, and creating spaces for diversity to meet.
Courage, freedom, imagination is a program where we tackle these titular concepts. We want the projects undertaken to develop sensitivity, openness to challenges, imagination, collaborative skills, and courage in both participants and initiators of actions, achieved through various creative forms: workshops, walks, knowledge exchange, performative events, mutual support, and inspiration

The language barrier is a significant obstacle in cross-cultural communication when the inability to conduct dialogue in the interlocutor’s language leads to mutual misunderstanding. Numerous migrants moving to different countries often do not know the language of the country they are relocating to or planning to move to. As a result, they encounter serious communication difficulties, which limit their freedom.
In the process of adaptation and learning the language of the country of residence, migrants gradually overcome these obstacles. Over time, by acquiring language knowledge and skills, they gain access to new opportunities: employment, education, medical services, and other aspects of social life. This opens up a new, more free, and accessible world for them.
However, it is worth noting that the difficulties faced by migrants also affect the native population. Misunderstanding and isolation cause social tensions and a lack of trust, creating barriers between communities. This performance examines the transformation from isolation to integration, from limitations to freedom, by overcoming the language barrier.
