It starts with the bees

In February 2020, we started working on the performance and were supposed to work on the topic of extinctions. There have apparently been five mass violent extinctions of many species. And the sixth catastrophe could be the modern extinction of species caused by human activity. Extinction is the best opportunity to find out what we have and what we wouldn’t want to lose. Extinction is not finite, although it does appear so. It happens all the time, but sometimes it is more noticeable, it becomes visible, audible, tangible. From some point of view, it is just a change, which we are trying to save. What concerns extinction is also about trying to survive. It’s about a lot of floating foil gloves, thrown to the ground after being picked up from the grocery store. And it’s about observation – statistics, birds, neighbors and a fallen tree on which mushrooms have grown in recent weeks. About seventeen square meters of an indebted studio apartment, an old wall unit and a flight home. About unemployment in a country outside of home, about working in pyjamas and dreams of dolphins. About intimacy in front of the camera, about a broken pipe, to put on lipstick in front of a mirror and the view from the window. Or from the balcony if you are lucky enough.
