Freedom Workshops. Let’s Meet & Talk!

Join us for a series of workshops discussing stereotypes and superstitions. Hosted by Huseyin Celik.

    Upcoming meeting: November 28, 2024 at 18:00

    FREEDOM WORKSHOPS

We invite everyone to participate in a series of five discussions / workshops focused on stereotypes and prejudices against ethnic, religious, and other minority groups. These sessions aim to foster understanding and promote dialogue about the challenges faced by marginalized communities.

The main goal of the cycle is to hold meetings on stereotypes about special groups. People will learn about these groups and free themselves from their stereotypes. In this way, we will reach freedom.

During the meetings, there will be presentations and workshops. People will have the opportunity to meet people from these special groups. They will be able to understand how many stereotypes they have for these groups. They will also get answers to their questions.
We specifically chose these groups because we think people have too many stereotypes about these groups.

The initiator and main facilitator of the Workshops is
Huseyin Celik – a journalist, activist, and expert on Turkey, Islam, and migration. He hails from Turkey and has been living in Poland for the past six years. His work is focused on promoting peace, dialogue, and human rights.

We believe that by getting to know each other, we can break down stereotypes, become more aware and open, and ultimately freer.

The Vietnamese community in Poland, comprising around 30,000–60,000 people, is one of the most active minority groups in the country. Vietnamese people have settled in Poland in two main migration waves: during the communist era under agreements with North Vietnam, and post-1989 for economic reasons.
How do they live? Where do they work? How do they see themselves and their community in Poland?

🤝 We will answer these and other questions during the fourth meeting in the “Freedom Workshop” series, dedicated to the Vietnamese community living in Poland.

    Facilitator:
Huseyin Celik – Journalist, activist, and expert on Turkey, Islam, and migration. Originally from Turkey, he has been living in Poland for six years. He advocates for peace, dialogue, and human rights.

    Guest Speaker:
Tôn Vân Anh – Polish-Vietnamese journalist, actress, translator, writer, educator, and activist for democracy and human rights.

The meetings are carried out as part of the project COURAGE, FREEDOM, IMAGINATION co-financed by the City of Warsaw and the Allianz Foundation.
