The portfolio review for migrating visual artists will be led by curators Michalina Sablik and Olga Mzhelskaya, and curator Paweł Brylski. During the meeting, artists and artists will receive tips on creating a portfolio, recommendations for planning further activities in Poland and answers to questions useful for possible exams.
The portfolio may be in the form of originals as well as PDF files, possible consultation languages are Polish, English, Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian.
Michalina Sablik – art historian, critic and curator, doctoral student at the University of Warsaw, member of AICA. He works at the Promotion Gallery in the Staromiejski Dom Kultury in Warsaw, and cooperates with many magazines and institutions. Works in the Dzida duo. Last year, together with Kamil the First, she prepared the exhibition “These days noisy, fiery and dazzling, I move my thoughts” at the Stefan Gierowski Foundation in Warsaw. Paweł Brylski – author of texts and creator of exhibitions. He comes from the artistic education community, previously associated with the most important cultural and art institutions. He is a curator of individual, group and problem exhibitions. A member of ZAiKS.
Olga Mzhelskaya – art manager and curator from Belarus. He has been living and working in Warsaw since 2021. He collaborates with the Blyzkist initiative and the Museum of Modern Art in the development of programs accompanying the exhibitions, as well as organizing tours for migrants to the Museum of Modern Art and other cultural institutions. Author of the support program for Belarusian cultural workers.

Casting workshops / self-presentation for migrant artists and artists

The workshop is aimed mainly at actresses and actors
What are effective self-presentation techniques? What in everyday life and what in casting? We will talk, among others about business cards, acting demo, preparation for the role, selftape recording, good casting, e-casting portals, social media, but also body language, voice tone, tricks and obstacles to good self-presentation.
How to record a good visit? Who to write to and should I write to at all? How to write an email so as not to get lost in the sea of submissions? What are the acting agencies in Poland, what do they offer?

Papa Bo Selektah (Alexander Bogdanov) is known as the organizer of the largest club events and festivals in Belarus, producer of well-known Belarusian music groups, founder and permanent head of the BOpromo concert agency, co-founder and artistic director of the Corpus cultural center in Minsk. After participating with a mobile sound-system in the 2020 peaceful protests in Belarus (https://youtu.be/lPA0zKRBlk8) and the related criminal proceedings, he was forced to move to Tbilisi and now to Poland.
Papa Bo Selektah is a fashionable Minsk selector with an extensive GIG geography (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Ukraine, USA, India, Sri Lanka) and an unconditional musical taste. Papa Bo always prepares very unusual selections, lots of intelligent sounds and fat groove parts. All musical variety is richly spiced with ethnic motifs.
Free Polish language lesson for women and migrant artists.
The classes are intended for beginners who know other Slavic languages.
Lessons will be held at the Staromiejski Dom Kultury (Rynek Old Town 2 in Warsaw). The course will last from August to November.
You can subscribe to two groups:
Group A: Mondays and Wednesdays 9.00-10.30
Group B: Mondays and Wednesdays 11.00-12.30

Teacher’s biography:
Karolina Szczypek – studied Polish at the University of Warsaw and theater directing at the Theater Academy. Playwright, translator and social activist. She cooperated with the New Horizons Association, conducting original lectures for children and youth. As a carer, she supported a day-care center for children with refugee experience initiated by the Strefa WolnoSłowa Foundation. In his theatrical work, he deals with topics such as: human rights, abuse of power, anti-fascism and the subjective presence of groups at risk of being marginalized or marginalized in public space. As part of her residency at TR Warszawa, she worked with Polish and Belarusian artists on performative reading of the text “Wygnanie”. Together with the Polish-Ukrainian cast, she prepared a show of work on Olga Maciupa’s drama at the Ochota Theater. Time for Pilates. He gives private lessons in Polish and Russian. Recently, she completed the Polish Humanitarian Action workshops on discrimination and working with stereotypes, as well as preparing to respond to hate speech and support people who experienced it.
On 30 July we invited migrant artists to a workshop as part of the Migrart.waw.pl project. The workshop took place at the Rotary Cultural Centre in Jazdów.
Part 1.
– Self-presentation workshop

We will focus on self-presentation techniques, including body language, tone of voice, we will talk about “tricks” of working with the camera. And what about the selftap? We’ll work together to stage in front of the camera and record professional business cards.

Jarek Skotnicki worked for many years at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he helped young artists find their way in the job market. He currently works in PR and is an art and acting agent.
