Selfdefence course – for people! >

Strefa WolnoSłowa and sports club RKS “Gwiazda” open a call for participants in the new workshop in Stół Powszechny!

Every Thursday at 7.00 p.m. we invite you to a self-defense course – first meeting yet on the 14th of July!

Last weeks events gave us an inspiration to create a self-defense course addressed to the foreigners living in Warsaw. As many people got interested in the course of self-defense that would be free and open for everybody we decided that the meetings would be organized not only for foreigners!

And so we warmly invite not only refugees and migrants but also friends and people showing solidarity with refugees. We invite everybody – no matter your age, sex, cultural and religious background, no matter your level of Polish language, no matter previous experiences of work with body and participation in the self-defense courses in the past. During the workshops there is no place for racism, homo- and transphobia, discrimination, hate speech and lack of acceptance. The course is free of machoism and judgements. It is a space of equality and variety of experiences and identities. During the course we are going to get to know self-defense techniques rooted in different martial arts: Ju Jitsu, Taekwon-do, KravMaga, Sambo, MMA, Sistema, Escrima

We are going to learn how:
- react in dangerous situations
- built a self confidence
- recognize intension of who is attacking
- use simple self-defense techniques
- work on the self-defense body reactions
- control body and mind

Workshops are going to be run by Łukasz Wójcicki, certified by Polish Sport Accademy self-defense instructor, Queer Fight couch in the Sport Club “Gwiazda” with years of experience in the martial arts – Karate Kyokushin, Ken Jutsu, Aikido, Kung Fu/Wu Shu, lately dedicated to Taekwon-do and Thai Box.
