November 30th from 11 am to 6 pm
The Open Institute of Strefa WolnoSłowa is an arts and education programme for young creators coming from various cultural backgrounds. For several months, participants share an artistic experience focused on cooperation in a multicultural group and a reflection on our social responsibility for being together. The programme revolves around experiencing art which aims to bridge the divide between “us” and “them” in relationships with foreign communities and other minorities. Another goal is to build a common social identity through the shared artistic effort.
The installation showcased during the Forum for the Future of Culture (FPK) sums up this educational and artistic experience. Ten works prepared by the participants are the product of their musings on how to run art projects in cooperation with various communities and, drawing inspiration from different fields, how to organise art events together with minorities and people who have no professional experience in art.
